Unified rates for Indian Telecom

India is heading towards a new paradigm, where there will be no distinction between the local and STD calls.

"There would be uniform rates and a ‘OneIndia' approach" says Dayanidhi Maran (Union minister for telecommunications and information technology for India)

Its indeed an applausable effort, resulting in affordable telephony, greater density and offcourse boost to economy due to reduced operational cost for small shops.

We look forward to have Unified Numbering Scheme as well, where in the telephone number remains the same irrespective of the service provider one opts for.
